March 2010 copy edit
[edit]Hi there - just finished a thorough copy edit. I've got a few suggestions if you're heading for FA (or just improving the article):
- Is the Sherwin Miller museum notable? I wikilinked it, but I see it's a redlink. If it's not a notable institution, perhaps it doesn't belong in the lead.
- There were a few places where I found the plot summary unclear and filled in gaps based on my own understanding of the Moses story (i.e. the infant Moses' discovery by the pharaoh's relative). If my edits don't match the Rugrats version then please correct.
- Organization of critical response - I wasn't sure about the paragraphing here and made some changes. You could try grouping those reviews that discuss the episode in the context of Jewish programming - e.g. the one that says it could help prepare a kid for seder celebrations - separately from the more general reviews.
- Similarly, if Gila Wertheimer's review represents a broader positive reception in Jewish community publications, could you cite some more of them?
- I'm not sure what the Goldberg review quote is meant to illustrate. The Jewish themes are secondary, or subordinate, to the fact that it's mass-market entertainment? It's a positive step toward mainstreaming portrayals of Jewish tradition because it's for a mass audience, not a niche one? Perhaps you could clarify in the text.
- "J. David Stem and David N. Weiss—who had recently converted to Judaism—": both of them had converted, or just the latter?
- To me it reads slightly strangely to end with a discussion of Jimmy Olsen. It would be quite nice to have the final sentence focus on the article's subject.
Interesting article, anyway. Well done to the contributors. Gonzonoir (talk) 16:53, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
