[edit]

Some semi-illiterate dude from Andhra has tried to create a section about a Telugu story being the "true inspiration" for the movie. My understanding was that it was an original screenplay by renowned Marathi playwright Tendulkar.

Anyways, i have cleaned up the horrendous language - and let the section stand ( while adding a tongue-in-cheek blurb in order to entice back the mouse :-).

I invite any & all telugu-speakers { hopefully those with at least a rudimentary command of the english language}, who have means to obtain a copy of this story, to read it & make additional comparisons.

Similarly all Marathi's who have read the original Tendulkar play - or seen it performed - can contribute their data to this discussion/ page.

THERE IS NO DOUBT IN ANY PROGRESSIVE INDIAN'S MIND THAT THIS WAS THE HALLMARK MOVIE OF ALTERNATE HINDI CINEMA !!! Lets please have the article reflect that exalted claim, while not making Indian intellectuals hang their heads in shame at the abysmal language in which it is written.
