Fatalities

[edit]

The Russian wikipedia lists the fatalities as 82 passengers/8 crew/90 total - Aviation-Safety.net lists as 90/6/96. Which one is right? SportingFlyer (talk) 20:45, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

CCCP vs SSSR

[edit]

There appears to be an editwar over if the registration prefix should be SSSR or CCCP. These prefixes were not transliterated and if you look at pictures of Soviet Aeroflot aircraft the registration prefix appears as CCCP, not SSSR. DO NOT TRANSLITERATE because the transliteration is not part of the official registration, transliteration is used to help Russian learners sound out words but transliterating a registration prefix to what it is not is wrong. All other articles (of good quality) write the registration as it appeared on the aircraft. For further information, I recommend looking at images of Soviet-era Aeroflot aircraft to see how all to the registrations are ACTUALLY written.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 19:55, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Crew names list

[edit]

As per WP:NOTMEMORIAL we don't normally list the names of the crew and especially not down to the flight attendants. List of non-notable people are not notable. - Ahunt (talk) 14:29, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That appears to refer specifically to articles about deceased people. Listing the crew is a common occurrence in accident articles as who flew the plane is relevant. SportingFlyer (talk) 16:48, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Not to mention that in the circumstances of a Soviet plane crash, names of crew members aren't always known due to censorship, hence it is worth noting if known. But anyway, nearly every Featured article on an air crash lists the crew names and flying experience if known.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 16:51, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
