Proposed rename to Aisha al-Mana

[edit]

According to Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(Arabic)#Definite_article, "the" in Arabic names should be written as "al-", unless the person is a member of a dynasty and the "Al" is supposed to be آل Āl (dynasty/family) instead of "the" (ال al-). So this should become Aisha al-Mana. Any objections? Boud (talk) 22:02, 21 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'll repeat this as a formal move request, because there's presently an existing page (a redirect) at the target, and maybe someone will find WP:RS that say that the dynastic آل Āl applies here. Boud (talk) 20:11, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Aisha Al-ManaAisha al-Mana – According to Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(Arabic)#Definite_article, "the" in Arabic names should be written as "al-", unless the person is a member of a dynasty and the "Al" is supposed to be آل Āl (dynasty/family) instead of "the" (ال al-). We have no evidence for the dynastic meaning, so the default ("the") meaning should apply. So this should become Aisha al-Mana. (This move request was made informally on the talk page 10 days ago without objections so far.) Boud (talk) 20:11, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
