Deletion

[edit]

I've nominated this article for deletion. I do not have an account and don't wish to create one, however, so it would be nice if someone who is logged in could complete steps II and III as outlined here: WP:AFD#How_to_list_pages_for_deletion

My reason for doing this is that I think it's pretty clear that she doesn't meet the standards for notability. Sources are not cited throughout the article, despite the many assertions made. One of the references at the bottom of the page is her personal site; not acceptable according to that policy page. Another of the sources is her IMDB page, which, in addition to being pretty scant, is also specifically not admitted as a biographical source by Wikipedia policy. The third seems to be a local newspaper article about her, copied to another (rather unprofessional-looking) site. This is a secondary source, but please note the additional criteria on the notability policy page - the coverage is not substantial, the source is not notable (nor necessarily independent), and it stands alone at the moment. Judging from the edit history this page seems to have been put up and maintained by her and/or some of her friends, who I assume will contest this deletion (which is why I did not use proposed deletion). If anyone can find some more sources, in compliance with notability policy linked above, to support her notability, then the page should be kept. But I doubt this will be possible, in which case I support its deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.249.92.63 (talk) 06:31, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

it's pretty easy to see this was just ripped off a page from the internet. no source, not current information, and refers to pictures that aren't there.

Seconded. How remarkable is she? Perhaps this should be deleted for vanity?

I vote against deletion. She was on CNN's front page just the other day. She has received a lot of awards and media attention over her career. - jsdratm http://www.nechita.info/awards.htm http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/living/2007/11/30/ypwr.alexandra.nechita.cnn?iref=videosearch http://www.lewisbond.com/nechita/about_nechita.html http://www.museumsyndicate.com/artist.php?artist=513 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jsdratm (talkcontribs) 19:12, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
