[edit]This sounds like an advertisement. Not to mention the POV spread through out this article. DragonFire1024 (talk) 14:53, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Needs an unbiased rewrite
[edit]I agree with DragonFire. This "article" needs a serious rewrite, preferably by someone familiar with the AAF, but NOT directly connected with it, as is OBVIOUSLY the case here.
The section towards the end, specifically the lines:
"Through the negotiated agreements with the City, merchants are not allowed to display merchandise outside their stores during festival hours and street art (beyond the juried artists) and music is not permitted.",
-and-
"From 2003 - 2005 the Music is Art festival, a charity event founded by Goo Goo Dolls member Robby Takac, was held on adjoining streets concurrent with the Art Festival. In an effort to protect the integrity of the established, nationally renowned Allentown Art Festival, the Allentown Village Society met with Robby Tatak and City leaders to find an alternative date or location for the Music is Art Festival; in 2008, the Music is Art Festival found a comfortable home in Buffalo at the Albright Knox Art Gallery and historic Delaware Park."
Both of these statements are heavily biased towards, and overlook the behavior and heavy-handed tactics of the Allentown Village Society. Those who live in the Allentown neighborhood, and the participants in the second Music Is Art Festival are fully aware of the behavior exhibited by the Allentown Village Society when they actually attempted to block access to the street the MIA Festival was taking place on by placing two large food concession carts across the entrance to that street, leaving an opening that ONE person could comfortably walk through, and the subsequent comedy of errors that took place when no one could be "located" to move the carts and reopen a street that wasn't supposed to be blocked. I will probably undertake the rewrite of this "article" myself, however, I cannot offer any kind of a timeframe as to when. If someone else steps in and addresses the issues that need to be cleared up, that will be good too. Osirisascending (talk) 23:58, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
