Alyssa Searrs Flashback Nitpick
[edit]Sorry to be nitpicky, but I differ in the articles interpretation of that flashback for a few reasons.
The first is that the world appears to be the one that the Otome series takes place in, while Alyssa would have likely lived out her years on Earth hundreds of years ago. Why would Miyu be watching Alyssa from a distance in her "desert-roaming" getup?
My interpretation of that flashback, aided by Miyu's monologue, leads me to conclude that this person is actually another descendent of Alyssa Sears, among many that Miyu looks after. The bloodline had to have forked sometime, no?
It seems kind of far-fetched to me to believe that in hundreds of years Alyssa's bloodline would never have forked with multiple children in a family, and that her only descendents are Arika, Rena, and the mothers/fathers that bore them up and back to Alyssa herself. It seems more likely to me that Miyu looks after what is likely to be many, many descendents, or else why would she not spend all of her time observing Arika?
I am by no means an expert in this field, and perhaps something was lost in translation to English, but I would just like this to be brought up, as there seems to be some evidence to support my position. Perhaps somebody who is more experienced with the subject, or who has "insider information" of sorts, will be able to clear it all up.
- The fact that in this scene it cuts from the bird on Miyu's shoulder to the girl seen drinking tea leads me to believe it's a flashback. The fact that Miyu nostalgically says "Ojo-sama" when thinking of her seems to indicate that it is the same person. From what I've seen almost everyone assumed that this was the Alyssa, but unless other evidence of is offered I'm inclined to believe it was Alyssa. It's more than possible there are brancing families, but it could be only the line that became Rena and Arika inherited the glowing hair gene. I'll watch the scene again, but I'm almost positive it's Alyssa. Katsuhagi 18:40, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Manga
[edit]Info about her manga storyline should be included more I think. Her Child in the manga is named Izzak, a giant metal orb that manipulates gravity. Her personality is also quite different in the manga versions; she is mcuh freindlier, child-like and warm, whereas in the anime she is cold and detached.
- If you could add that I'd very much appreciate it, as my knowledge of the manga only comes from second hand sources. Katsuhagi 23:41, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Her height?
[edit]Just trying to make sure that i'm reading this right, but if i'm not mistaken, 195 cm is pretty tall... is that her actual height? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.151.169.125 (talk) 03:51, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- It's actually 122 cm on the official website, but it must have been changed somehow. Either way I changed it back. Katsuhagi (talk) 14:13, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
