Names

[edit]

Much of this letter, and I'd suppose other EA letters, contain names with nothing to show who is being referenced.

No place is it apparent that Mane or Keliya are ambassadors/messengers. Nor that Mimmureya or Naphyurreya refer to Amenhotep III or Akhenaten. This may be common knowledge among people who study the Amarna letters but then things like Mittani, Lapis Lazuli, or Tushratta *are* linked to references in the same sections.

The second part of the translation provides links (albeit dead) to instances of Keliya and Mane.

I don't know that enough is known about Mane or Keliya to warrant an page but maybe an info bubble(?) to show who they were would be appropriate?

I don't know if the EA pages are auto generated from something and while I'd like to edit the pages I'm reluctant to do so until I've posted to talk and waited to see if anybody responds. Henderson Native (talk) 12:28, 26 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
