I didn't know that stuff and cultural works had to "stand apart". FYI it is both the best that I have ever heard, and the only one that I ... The hook in my head, the reason for researching and translating, was the Youtube of its impact on an Irish pub. Hey ho, it is of no major import if it does or does not make DYK. Chienlit (talk)
I'm a bit confused about the history. It says, "It appeared at the onset of Cecilianism", and Cecilian Movement puts that "in the second half of the 1800s". But, then we've got, "Records state that the song was still sung in 1830", which is 20 years prior to that. So, something doesn't jive. In any case, if the proposed hook isn't interesting, maybe something along the lines of:
ALT2: ... that Andachtsjodler was written around YEAR, largely forgotten, and then rediscovered in YEAR by Berlin high school teacher Max Pohl?
Chienlit, RoySmith, where does this nomination stand? It's been a month and a half since the ALT2 hook was proposed (but needing the years specified); if it isn't going to fly, then maybe this nomination should close. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:29, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think we're waiting on Chienlit to say if they're OK with my suggested ALT2, and if so, so fill in the appropriate years, with citations. And update the article to have the hook statement in it. -- RoySmith(talk)02:44, 17 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've posted another request for Chienlit to return on their talk page. If we haven't heard anything by the end of the year, I'll have to assume they've lost interest and mark this for closure. BlueMoonset (talk) 19:02, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello and apologies for my inaction and the effort it has caused. Unfortunately I have zero knowledge of this subject other than the Google translation shown, so I am unable to help with extra dates and citations for the Alt2 hook. I kind of assumed it would automatically meet an inevitable deadline and inevitably, automatically die. Many thanks. Chienlit (talk) 00:30, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
