Regarding my recent edit: I can't help but mention that I'm a direct descendant of Colin Campbell of Glenure (7 generations). --Zerotalk 09:21, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More recent-ish developments, if anyone feels like elaborating... https://www.scotsman.com/whats-on/arts-and-entertainment/appin-murder-1752-miscarriage-justice-810396 Oolong (talk) 21:41, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

And this, which is a direct update on the developments described in the final section. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/13609414.appin-murder-campaigners-told-no-pardon-historic-miscarriage-justice-case/ Oolong (talk) 21:47, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sniper / Marksman

[edit]

Iv'e changed the word sniper to marksman, to me sniper implies someone with extensive training and superior skill as well as according to wikipedia it couldn't have been used at the time.92.0.40.230 (talk) 19:10, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Holcombe

[edit]

In his 2004 examination of the evidence, Lee Holcombe also concluded that Donald Stewart of Ballachulish, rather than Allan Breck Stewart, is far more likely to have been the actual shooter.[1][2] However, Holcombe also concluded that James of the Glens, despite his eloquent denials, was indeed guilty of sanctioning the murder of Colin Campbell in advance.[3]

Holcombe is non-rs. Put this here for later to be resolved. scope_creepTalk 10:09, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Modern terms/slang

[edit]

The article is full of term like shooter and fragging. They modern slang and have no place in this article. I'd don't even know fragging means. scope_creepTalk 10:09, 11 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
