cleanup - description of removal

[edit]

The article mentions the removal of the statue on 2-June, and I added removal of the pedestal on 20 or 21-Jun. I have a photo of the new "National Pothole Monument" with flowers laid down around the opening. Apparently the base or entire pedestal was cut from a single piece of granite with the below-ground foundation. The pedestal was removed by cutting thorough the granite foundation.. Given that the foundation is above grade, this was probably not with the idea of re-installing the statue later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Unitacx (talkcontribs) 02:25, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to the statue?

[edit]

The article does not state what happened to the statue after its removal. Was is melted or is it still conserved in a museum. Regardless of its meaning, the statue is a piece of art which people should be able to see.Afil (talk) 02:07, 10 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
