Needs more cleanup to be ready for mainspace
[edit]This is not yet ready for userspace [meant to write "mainspace" - 6-24-18], so I've moved it back to draft and notified the page mover. It is still written at too basic a reading level, with misused terms in the lede and repetitive, choppy sentences. I'll look over the sourcing to see what we're dealing with there. - CorbieV ☊ ☼ 20:13, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
- @CorbieVreccan:Thanks for the response to Arikara scouts, although I had hoped for a different answer, since we don't have anything about the scouts from The Three Tribes. Personally, I do not like long sentences with four or five facts included, so I have used the "Write one level down" rule on Wikipedia. In contrast to so many other articles, this one gives a source for nearly every sentence, short or long. If I write long sentences, I have to give three or more sources at the end of each one, and it looks odd. I do not understand the "misused terms", and since I am to correct it, I will be glad for a specific example. I hope for a quick answer, so we can get this long needed article out in mainspace. - These edits by Tazerdadog took care of the problems in the lede and the article is in mainspace now. There's a lot of middle ground between short and choppy sentences and four or five points per sentence. If someone writes "one level down", there needs to be an agreement on what level we're starting from. Best, - CorbieV ☊ ☼ 18:22, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
- This article needs a whole lot of work. The repetitive use of the word 'indian' makes the article seem incredibly untimely, is this 2018 or 1968? I own several of the sources used and I'm very concerned about copyright violations. The article also reads very choppy. I'd like to give it a bit of an overhaul in the next few days, I likely won't have time until Tuesday. Indigenous girl (talk) 02:20, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Naawada2016: In the future please dial back on the commas. Please refrain from the excessive use of the word 'indian'. Please learn the correct plural of the Nations you write about. Best - Indigenous girl (talk) 23:10, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
