Artgal's name - etymology

[edit]

Artgal's name seems to be from two root words, both of which could be taken in a literal way, or be abstracts. It would be nice if anyone knows of a proper translation. 1. Art or Arth: bear. Bears were already extinct in Scotland, and the word at some point seems to have covered a more general bear-like attribute, strength. (+ ferocity?) 2. Gal: blade, or bladed weapon: and also (or at another period?) (gala) power. So, Strong Blade/Sword, Powerful Bear, Strong-Powerful... Bear Claw,...or what?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.187.170.162 (talkcontribs) 28 January 2017 (UTC)
