Sourcing and terms

[edit]

A great start to this article. As someone from the U.S., however, some of terms were unknown to me (i.e. all the government agencies). It's probably unnecessary to explain all of them, but pointing out anything that's significant or unusual that might not be obvious to non-Brits would be helpful. Also, some of the medical terms were a bit confusing (i.e. pathology)...can we change those to more commonly understood descriptions? The list of services would probably be more useful if written in a paragraph style with a bit more description added for the more comprehensive services...lists and bulleted points don't seem to be as big on Wikipedia as the rest of the internet. And if there are any articles about the service from major pubs that meet reliable source guidelines, such as the bbc or the guardian, they'd help with notability. I'll be happy to help dig those up. I have made a number of edits to make the article more reader friendly - replacing esoteric terms with ones that are more commonly underestood, linking to Wikipedia pages of government agencies where possible and clarifying the purpose of those agencies. However, as a new contributor to Wikipedia I would welcome any help with sourcing. Daviem07 (talk) 02:13, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
