article too long

[edit]

does anyone else feel this article is bloated? any ideas on making it easier to read? --Anthony5429 16:50, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely not. It contains only material that is relevant to the title of the article, and without any of it, the article is not encyclopedic. Much of it consists of lists of annual winners. What is easier to read than a list from top to bottom? Use the hyper-linked outline at the top of the article to jump to the sport in which you are interested. Women's collegiate sports have always received short shrift over the last 40 years by those who would rather ignore them or have them go away. Evidently this attitude persists. Do not let this happen. -- Jeff in CA 20:55, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Intro

[edit]

Would people object to the AIAW pep talk that constitutes the introductory paragraph being rewritten to make it, you know, vaguely npov and encyclopaedic? Or failing that, does anyone have any references to support its unsourced, weasel-wordy claims (like "A perception exists that women's collegiate championships did not begin until the NCAA began administering women's collegiate sports.")? Binabik80 16:45, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How do you like it now? No weasel words, eh? Jeff in CA 06:14, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
