history

[edit]

It'd be nice to see some history of the ASCM - how were they founded, by whom. About the debate that lead the Evangelicals to leave and form their own organisation. It'd also be good to see something about its more modern history, about its relation to churches, organisations like the NCCA and other student christian organisations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yvain (talkcontribs) 9 April 2006

I'd like to see some info about the split - when and why. I noticed Kevin Rudd met his wife (who he married in 1981) through this organization, and I'm curious whether it was as liberal when he was there as it was when I was at Sydney University in 1989-92. --Chriswaterguy talk 17:28, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have been reading some of the recommended texts and was going to add information about the origins of the ASCM as well some of the history of their activism. I've also found some information that could go some way regarding SCM activism and how liberal the movement was in Sydney in the 40's through to the 70's. Let me know what you think.
