Coconut milk

[edit]

The addition of coconut milk to the batter is restricted to people from the southern region only. --Nông Dân 23:00, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is it prepared in the north as well? Without coconut milk? But with turmeric? Badagnani 02:51, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Turmeric is an essential ingredient, regardless of where the banh xeo is made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.133.210.42 (talkcontribs)

Leaf

[edit]

I just heard that some kind of rare leaf is essential in the preparation of this dish, but I forgot which kind of leaf. Does anyone know what it is? Badagnani (talk) 02:56, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe Perilla (tía tô). Are they part of the batter and cooked, or just added later, as a garnish? Badagnani (talk) 02:57, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Egg fu yung?

[edit]

The description of this food sounds just like American egg fu yung. Does anyone know the historical connection? Related dishes found in Vietnamese, Thai and Cambodian cuisines with the same basic ingredients (rice flour, coconut milk/cream and turmeric), therefore I propose to merge them into one article with an English name. I don't know how optional coconut milk/cream is all of them, so the name could also be "rice [flour] crepes". –Turaids (talk) 14:10, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Since khanom bueang Yuan literally means "Vietnamese khanom bueang", I think we can treat the Vietnamese term as primary if a merger is agreed on (no opinion on that). --Paul_012 (talk) 16:30, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This user tried to remove any non-Khmer names of Vietnamese and Thai dishes into English names that aten't even primarily used. And then creates his own Khmer food articles on wikipedia that did not originate from Cambodia nor are primatily known from Cambodia. We all see your sneaky attempts at redirecting pages and articles on wikipedia. You need to be checked on. 49.190.249.131 (talk) 03:06, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
