Actually, 24.65.214.189 is completely right - this entire page doesn't make any sense until you read right to the bottom of it and see the link to the graph in question. If you start reading the article, it's not at all clear what it's going on about, and just doesn't make any sense! ISTM this page is completely pointless, unless someone creates a copy of the graph for Wikipedia... Otherwise we may as well just replace this page with a redirect to the remote site. Historical origin

I'm convinced that there are far older uses than this 1941 source. Anyone have a history of the concept or term? EllenCT (talk) 23:51, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
