  • ... that badminton in Singapore started in the early 19th century? Source: "Badminton was introduced in Singapore in the early 19th century and reached the height of its success in the 1950s." [1]

  • Hi @Oahid:, welcome to DYK, hope you enjoy your stay as we can certainly use some badminton athletes in DYK. This is your first nomination, so a QPQ is not needed. Article is long and new enough. However, there are several concerns:
  • Your hook is not explicitly mentioned in the article (sentence 1 of the "History" section only says "British colonial era", which is much less specific than "early 19th century".), so I would recommend writing that in the article.
  • "aimed to promote the game as well as to select the best players from various clubs by organising games among the clubs, so as to produce local athletes to participate in the renowned tournaments among the regional and international community" - could you put an inline citation at the end of this sentence?
  • "As there was no suitable indoor sports hall in Malaya then, the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) decided to build one in Singapore." - same as above, needs an inline citation
Once the issues have been fixed, would be glad to pass. Juxlos (talk) 11:04, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
