The notion that Council Leaders are "Not notable" simply because there are hundreds of them in the UK is the most preposterous and narrow minded thing I have ever seen posted with serious intent on Wikipedia. There are many more MPs than there are Council Leaders, but noone would suggest that MPs are "Not notable". Council leaders are in control of budgets of hundreds of millions of pounds, and in the case of large Unitaries (like Bristol) of a Billion pounds. Politicians who have been both Council Leaders and MPs invariably say that they have more power and influence over ordinary people's lives as the former.
