thumb|Schlacht bei Praga 1831 Im Novemberaufstand von 1830 war Praga am 6. und 7. September 1831 erneut Schauplatz einer Schlacht. Praga wurde im Rahmen der Verteidigung Warschaus durch General Henryk Dembiński von Jan Pawel Lelewel gegen die russische Übermacht unter Feldmarschall Graf Iwan Fjodorowitsch Paskewitsch (1782-1856) verteidigt. Die Polen mussten am 8. September 1831 erneut gegenüber der erdrückenden russisschen Übermacht kapitulieren, die anschließend in Warschau eindrang. Die revolutionäre Armee wurde vollständig zerstreut, die Überlebenden flohen ins Ausland, wo sie teils eine bedeutende Rolle in den revolutionären Bewegungen Westeuropas spielten. Paskewitsch, vom Kaiser zum Fürsten von Warschau erhoben und zum Statthalter von Polen ernannt, begann die Russifizierung des Landes. Er vollzog am 26. Februar 1832 das Organische Statut, das Polen mit Russland vereinigte.--Fifat 23:33, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
