Is there a pipe organ recording of this song? I would love to have one. Oldlover (talk) 03:08, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Uncle Joe

[edit]

I've heard a similar song called "Uncle Joe".

Is your horse a single footer, Uncle Joe, Uncle Joe? 76.126.21.16 (talk) 22:22, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hatnote

[edit]

Attempts to format and use {{hatnote}} for the notes at the top[1] appear to have now been WP:REVERT (removed completely)[2] with the edit summary "Undid … And they are other "Billy Boys". This is what a disambig page is for.". Presently Old revision of Billy Boy, nor a WP:DISAMBIG page. In this case the {{hatnote}} had been tweaked (1) to consolidate the two separate lines, (2) to note an article name ("BillyBoy*") containing punctuation—punctuation that Google doesn't like matching on—and which, without the punctuation would require an alternative name and additional disambiguation. Would Bgwhite or another editor be able to help offer a suggestion about disambiguating that would move the situation forward positively? —Sladen (talk) 07:58, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sladen, as I mentioned, this is what a disambig page is for. There are more than 3 pages with "Billy Boy". There is no need to list them all on top. Create Billy Boy (disambiguation). Add all the different pages there. Then add {{For}} or another similar template on the top of the appropriate Billy Boy pages.
Also, create a redirect. BillyBoy -> BillyBoy*.
Google doesn't like *, but that doesn't matter in this case. Problem is "BillyBoy" is up against "Billy Boy" in Google searches. People are not just searching for a jewellery designer.
Some Billy Boy's are: Billy Boy, Billy Boy (1954 film), Billy Boy (wrestler), Billy Boys, Willy Use a Billy... Boy, Billy Boy on Poison, Billy Boy Arnold. Hmmm, no Billy Boy condoms. It's a condom brand, but see... Willy Use a Billy... Boy. Bgwhite (talk) 08:29, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Bgwhite thank you, and I concur that a disambiguation page will be a better solution. Would you be willing to perform a self-revert until a disambiguation page is available and the {{hatnote}} can be updated accordingly? —Sladen (talk) 09:40, 2 October 2015 (UTC) Only one of the topics was in the news-media yesterday, so the short-term optimisation and article creation was done around that.[reply]
[[User:|Sladen]] It took two minutes to create. Bgwhite (talk) 20:50, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
