"He is the son of Donald Christian who competed in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal as a cyclist. Though born in Antigua Brendan Christian grew up in Austin Texas where he was a high school track star.Some of his early accomplishments includes. ranked Number One in the 200 meters and Number Two in the 100 meters by Track and Field News...won the Texas Class 4A state championships in the 100 and 200 meters...set Texas state record in the 200 meters with 20.56 seconds...2002 World Junior silver medalist...won USATF Junior Olympics 100-meter titles in 2000 and 2001 and 200-meter title in 2000...named the 2002 Gatorade National Men's High School Athlete of the Year in track and field...named the Track and Field News Indoor Athlete of the Year...set national indoor high school 200-meter record with 21.02 seconds....graduated in Top 10 percent of his senior class...named a Texas Scholar. He moved to Austin Tx when he was 3 years old and grew up with his mother Brenda Matthew and stepfather George."
