Trace's Relationship Status edit request on June 19, 2019
[edit]Currently, this page states that Trace is courting "Chaney Kahle Grace." Even though Trace and Chaney have been photographed together, there has not been official confirmation that they are courting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.218.200.225 (talk • contribs) 23:30, 19 June 2019 (UTC)

Children
[edit]The children, children’s spouses, and grandchildren need to be put back up and left up. They should not have been removed. Jeanniefan78 (talk) 03:01, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- Jeanniefan78, when they're widely covered in reliable sources, we can discuss that. Woodroar (talk) 12:17, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
Tv shows
[edit]I'm looking for the information about the Bates family that was on this page. After seeing the US magazine interview with Erin Paine about her health, I'm looking to see her kids ages. This tv show is about the growth of a family. There needs to be a list of members and dates of births and marriages. That is the focus of the television show. Would it be possible to limit the information to only marriages and not other relationship status, such as courting or dating?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Pkgh12 (talk • contribs) 03:41, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
I think that one season of the TLC show is not that big a deal. It should list that previously that family had one season of The United Bates of America as an afterthought, after telling about Bringing up Bates. The Wikipedia page is about the Bringing up Bates TV show on UPtv not the Bates family and whatever show show they had one season of. Pkgh12 (talk) 05:02, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
Please disregard my lack of proof reading. I think the focus should be on the tv show the Wikipedia is about. Pkgh12 (talk) 05:06, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
Bringing Up Bates is on it's 10th season. Pkgh12 (talk) 05:08, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
BLP Issues
[edit]I have tried following Drmies's request to discuss BLP violations here but was told here that the place to which I was directed was the incorrect place to have that discussion. I am baffled and have no idea what the admins want in regards to starting a discussion concerning editing and policy compliance. BecauseIHadTo (talk) 20:21, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- BecauseIHadTo, WP:BLPPRIVACY says:
With identity theft a serious ongoing concern, many people regard their full names and dates of birth as private. Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object to the details being made public
. If their full names and dates of birth have been published in reliable, secondary sources, then we can discuss adding them. I've only seen them listed in shady sites and on sites run by their parents or Up TV, not by the individuals listed. Woodroar (talk) 20:38, 28 March 2021 (UTC)- Woodroar, do official People magazine announcements count? Or would I have to cite individual episodes of the show? Also, does the same apply to Counting On since these two pages are so similar in formatting issues? Also, the individuals do post these dates on their official Instagram pages. BecauseIHadTo (talk) 20:42, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- BecauseIHadTo, People magazine is considered a reliable source at WP:RSP, which is a good place for information about which sources are and aren't reliable. I would also suggest reading WP:RS. Note that our BLP policy requires that full names and dates of birth be "widely published", so many independent sources would be required to support that level of detail. Woodroar (talk) 20:48, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- Woodroar Alright, I'll get to work starting on the Counting On page because that's easier to find multiple reliable sources. I intend to do this very much by the book. Thank you very much. BecauseIHadTo (talk) 20:59, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- There is also WP:MINORS. Why should we include DOB/whatever of kids? There's off-WP sites like [1] that seems ok with it, perhaps DOB-enthusiasts should focus on those. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 21:18, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- That's why we're having this discussion! I can focus on the 19 "kids" and spouses while we discuss what to do about minors. All of the minors are heavily featured on the show so I think it would be odd to not include names, at least in respect to their family (e.g. Zach and Whitney have three kids, Bradley, Kaci and Khloe).BecauseIHadTo (talk) 21:24, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Even with a source like [2], I don't see a reason to go beyond "born 2021", if specific kids are to be mentioned at all. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 21:26, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
- I didn't mention including birthdates again, just names. I'm trying to comply with the standards you are presenting. BecauseIHadTo (talk) 21:30, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

Does the family posting things for birthdays and wedding anniversaries count as reliable? Rutherford 23 (talk) 15:29, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
- If an adult is the/a subject of the article and posting about themselves on their own social media accounts, that would pass WP:BLPPRIVACY and WP:ABOUTSELF. But because this article is about a television show, I doubt that any posts from these individuals would apply. Woodroar (talk) 17:02, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
