Insomnia

[edit]

Why do we list "Insomnia" under common side-effects and "Difficulty to fall asleep" under uncommon side-effects? --Guy Macon (talk) 23:09, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cost

[edit]

What does the drug cost? Is there any outlook on price changes in the foreseeable future? Thanks --Lbeaumont (talk) 00:50, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Secondary sources

[edit]

I have gone through and removed a mass of primary sources once and left requests for the accounts in question to use secondary sources. Now we have a whole new group of accounts adding the same primary sources again.

  • Primary source Beasley, Richard; Holliday, Mark; Reddel, Helen K.; Braithwaite, Irene; Ebmeier, Stefan; Hancox, Robert J.; Harrison, Tim; Houghton, Claire; Oldfield, Karen; Papi, Alberto; Pavord, Ian D. (2019-05-23). "Controlled Trial of Budesonide–Formoterol as Needed for Mild Asthma". New England Journal of Medicine. 380 (21): 2020–2030. doi:10.1056/NEJMoa1901963. ISSN 0028-4793.

There are secondary sources on this topic.

"There were previous concerns that the use of Budesonide/Formoterol increases the risk of Influenza, however this has been disproven in later studies"

And the secondary source is even newer than the primary one. Also User:Erikajmarsh why did you remove the product monograph? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:01, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Other concerns

[edit]

The product monograph states "is NOT indicated for the relief of acute bronchospasm."

We summarized this as "It is not recommended for sudden worsening or treatment of active bronchospasm."[1]

User:Maddiek12 Changed it to the exact opposite "The use of Symbicort has been demonstrated to be safe in both maintenance and as needed treatment of asthma and acute bronchospasm."

Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 05:56, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have updated that text based on a secondary source to "The product monograph does not support its use for sudden worsening or treatment of active bronchospasm.[1] However, a 2020 review of the literature does support such use.[2]"

This edit[2]

[edit]

User:Nundah123 you:

We already had it sufficient supported by a secondary source. No need for the primary sources. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:07, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And this edit[3]

[edit]

User:Megan.sharkey11 this[4] is a primary source from 2016. As is this.[5]

We already state that the concerns were removed in 2017 and no need for the primary sources. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:33, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well this is a review[6] it is a little old and it is unclear what you are using it to try to support? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 06:35, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction: Side Effects

[edit]

Influenza was erroneously listed as a side-effect in the introduction. Medication cannot cause the spontaneous incidence of influenza virus as a side effect. I have updated this with a list of the side effects acknowledged as common side effects and provided references. SquattyRoo (talk) 18:33, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
