My previous creation of this article was deleted on trumped up accusations of copyright violations. I paraphrased EVERYTHING except for one sentence which was in quotation marks. This unquestionably falls under fair use guidelines. Even if it is in violation G12 speedy deletion rules state and should only be deleted when there is no non-infringing content on the page worth saving (Emphasis mine.) The infobox is a clear example of non-infringing content on the page if it is "infringing," so are the film infoboxes on thousands of articles on here. It also states to revert to an earlier version that does not break copyright and I can be sure there are some.

This film is close to being nominated for an academy award (and won several others) so any subsequent deletion will probably be have to be undone anyway. --T1980 (talk) 20:05, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I almost stopped reading at "trumped up". I don't appreciate that and it's completely unproductive. I review several articles an hour and that this article exists isn't reason enough for me to trump up anything.
Large portions of the text were taken verbatim (not paraphrased) and even if they were, they still need clear attribution which you did not give. That made it a copyright violation. Please make yourself familiar with WP:COPYVIO before accusing others of trumping up accusations.
Subsequent deletion? I don't see what that has to do with anything. I checked for notability and feel that the subject is notable. Also, the article did make a claim of notability which is why I didn't nominate it for WP:A7 deletion.
That any other articles existed about a film and only consisted of an infobox is irrelevant. See WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS.
In the future, I suggest talking with others about their concerns before accusing them of some sort of conspiracy to delete articles you create. I wasn't alone in feeling that the article was a copyright violation and had you asked, I would have happily pointed out and worked on the issues with you.
If there's any way that I can help you in the future, please feel free to contact me. OlYeller21Talktome 20:32, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

More copyrighted text was added by 76.71.236.252 in this edit. Claims have previously been made that the text isn'y a copyright violation so I'll leave this link here to prove that it is. Changing "strive" to "struggle" in no way avoids a copyright violation. Please don't let it happen again. OlYeller21Talktome 05:13, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Awards, accolades, etc.

[edit]

I had used Taxi Driver to name the section but that doesn't mean that it's standard practice. I just picked a popular movie. I don't particularly care what it's called as long as the section stays. Once there's significant coverage in the form of a critique, maybe we can add a "reception" section where awards is a subsection. I'll tag the talk page with wikiproject tags but regardless, due to its Oscar nomination, I'm sure it will get the attention it deserves. OlYeller21Talktome 21:31, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
