Splitting the article ideas 2
[edit]I have rearranged the content of the article into the sections of federal government responses, impact on travel and border control, the economic impact and social impact. One idea would be to create three splinter articles based on the Government response, economic and social impacts:
- Malaysian government response to the COVID-19 pandemic (can incorporate elements of the impact on travel and border control)
- Economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia
- Social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia.
These would be replaced by shorter paragraphs summarizing the main points of those articles. Happy to hear feedback on these ideas before I move ahead. Andykatib 2:55, March 31, 2021 (UTC)
- Another idea is to create articles for the aid and controversies sections, leaving brief summary sections in their place:
- Aid and relief efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia
- Controversies during the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia
Andykatib 9:21, May 11, 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Andykatib, didn't see your initial post here, but well done on the splitting. I would be wary of a Controversies article per WP:CSECTION. Aid is a reasonable split if large enough, not sure it makes too much of a difference. Looking at the current article, I think the best way to reduce its length would be to shorten the "Transmission timeline" and "Movement Control Order" (sub)sections, shifting especially the wp:proseline into the main articles. "Travel and border control policies" may be a good section so split off, and I suspect in time the "Economic stimulus plan" subsection may become viable for its own article. - Hi CMD, thanks so much for your advice. Will think about your recommendations. Probably a good idea to create separate "Travel and border control policies" and "Economic stimulus plan" article. Agree that having a Controversies section is not a very good idea. Andykatib 10:40, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
