The infobox shows the wrong name

[edit]

On this page (California's_15th_State_Assembly_district), the infobox says "Current assemblymember: Tim Grayson, D–Concord". However, this is incorrect. As the page content correctly says, "California's 15th State Assembly district [...] is currently represented by Democrat Buffy Wicks of Oakland".

I can't figure out how to fix it, though; it seems to be automatically generated somehow. The page at Members of the California State Legislature correctly shows that Buffy Wicks represents the 15th district, and Tim Grayson represents the 14th district.

How do I change the infobox to correctly show that Buffy Wicks is the current assembly member for the 15th district? Or, put another way: where is it getting the wrong information from? Tigertech (talk) 23:21, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it's actually the other way around. Buffy Wicks is the representavie for the 14th district, and Tim Grayson is the representative for the 15th district (see sources below). The infoboxes on both pages (California's_15th_State_Assembly_district and California's_14th_State_Assembly_district) list the correct representative. However, the rest of the information on both pages is incorrect. The wrong representative is listed, the information about the area encompassed by each district is wrong, and the maps in the infoboxes are incorrect. I believe this is due to the redistricting that took effect for the 2022 election. The district map linked at the bottom of each page is out of date (from 2011).
The Members of the California State Legislature page only includes the 2021-2022 term, so while I think it correctly lists the representatives' districts for that year, it it not up to date. Each representative's page (Wicks, Grayson) correctly lists their district.
I'm not sure how these pages should be updated. Should the information basically just be copied and pasted to switch them? Maybe someone who has more experience with this kind of update can help?

I updated all of this to reflect the 2021 redistricting by swapping the two pages (and updating the info boxes with the latest stats). Alliejanoch (talk) 01:16, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
