43 stations

[edit]

That count includes stops on both sides of the street, which may be confusing. The number of places you can get on or off when traveling in a particular direction is only about half of that... AnonMoos (talk) 09:35, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated now anyway, since they're opening new stations... AnonMoos (talk) 19:40, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

New Library

[edit]

Faulk Library closed. The new central library is only accessible through the 803 MetroRapid line. 801 does not service it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.34.102.39 (talk) 23:37, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New stations

[edit]

I wish CapMetro would clearly communicate about when new stops are open. Slaughter station (just north of Southpark Meadows) was shown on the January maps, but I went by it a few days ago, and there was a black bag over the top of the sign next to the shelter, and the bus didn't stop there... AnonMoos (talk) 17:00, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently the fully-completed southbound station won't be opened until construction is finished on the other side of the street. The new (August) route 801 specific maps show Slaughter as "coming soon", so that's less confusing than before, but the overall System Map still implies that it's in service... Cap Metro issued a new system map for November 4th which shows Slaughter as open, but I went by there yesterday, and Slaughter station is not open. It's annoying... AnonMoos (talk) 10:48, 8 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Finally opened. AnonMoos (talk) 20:19, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

West 38th connections

[edit]

I previously removed some "connections" from the 31st Street and West 38th stations, since the 661 and 980's-numbered buses don't stop there (they zoom by). However, now I understand that the connection to the 982 and 987 was based on those buses stopping northbound at 38th & Medical Parkway, so I'll re-add those routes to West 38th (not to 31st Street)... Future

[edit]

With Prop A/Project Connect passed, should we start work on a future expansion section? Burnet to Menchaca & Oak Hill, Expo, and Pleasant Valley lines already have named stations on the system plan map, but it's kind of a large undertaking so I didn't want to rush in without discussion.

We should certainly mention that additional routes are planned (and that the 801 is planned to be replaced by light rail), but I'm not sure we need to go into any detail about future station locations, until CapMetro makes a firm commitment on a date to begin construction...
