Referencing and quoting

[edit]

Direct copying of material, even from Federal government webpages that may arguably be in the public domain (hence avoid copyright violation issues), is not appropriate without proper quoting. See WP:REF. Material written in wikipedia should be in the words of wikipedia editors, if it is not clearly quoted from somewhere else with appropriate attribution.
