African-American categories

Pinging Capricornsgroove. I'm not sure why we couldn't have followed WP:BRD on this, but we have a dispute over the categories Category:African-American women rappers and Category:African-American women songwriters. Capricornsgroove, you're at odds with the subject's self-identification and multiple reliable sources already cited in the article. She's a Black American, whether or not you consider her an African American, and these are the categories for Black Americans. This is a consequence of having the overarching main article African Americans cover Black Americans as well, as is common in most reliable sources and the US Census.
