Capacity?

[edit]

Lead paragraph says 3400 passengers while the infobox is somewhere like 2700 passengers. TheHYPO (talk) 21:02, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think the 3400 passenger number includes every bed being filled, while the 2700 passenger number is the using the standard capacity metric in the industry (assuming 2 people per standard cabin, despite the cabin being able to hold 3 or 4). Butch81385 (talk) 19:15, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ship Class?

[edit]

The lead paragraph states that it is a Destiny Class ship, though sometimes referred to as a Triumph Class ship. The Layout section calls it a Triumph Class ship and differentiates it from the Destiny Class ship, which is explained as a different class. This seems to be conflicting. Butch81385 (talk) 19:17, 15 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the headsup. The simple explanation for the discrepancy is that I have been upgrading the lead sections of various cruise ship articles, including this one, and haven't yet got around to upgrading the rest of the articles as well. Bahnfrend (talk) 00:40, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Carnival Victory. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

  • Attempted to fix sourcing for //www.carnival.com/pr/97013097.html

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}).

Changing to Carnival Radiance?

[edit]

Should we change this to Carnival Radiance, or start a new article? They plan to just do a rebuild of the ship. NERMS123 (talk) 16:26, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not yet. Once she has been renamed and her AIS is sending out that name the article title should be changed. Lyndaship (talk) 16:50, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Carnival VictoryCarnival Radiance – Request to changed the name from Carnival Victory to Carnival Radiance because Carnival Cruise Line is changing it’s name to Carnival Radiance. Lyndaship, that comment does not make any sense. Carnival has already announced it and their is nothing recently to suggest otherwise. It would not make sense for Carnival to decided to keep the original name of the ship due to Coronavirus.BigRed606 21:30, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Who mentioned coronavirus. There have been many occasions over the years when Carnival have changed their plans and following a refit diverted the ship to a different constituent company under a different name -see WP:CRYSTAL Lyndaship (talk)

Support It has already been announced by Carnival that they are changing the name of from Victory to Radiance. As accustomed by Wikipedia article about ships, when a particular ships name changes so those the name of the Article.BigRed606 21:34, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

Comment Even though the announcement has been made, we should wait until Carnival takes delivery of the refurbished ship. When that happens, everything will be set in stone, and then you can change the article title. Kaio mh (talk) 03:00, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comment We had the same problem when Carnival Destiny went into dry dock to become Carnival Sunshine. I second that we wait until we have all the details for Carnival Radiance, as we will have to rewrite the entire article - a name change is insufficient. But we could add a note that she is going into dry dock using the following reference link [1] User:Kxterinc (User talk:Kxterinc) 2:46, 01 JUN 2020 (UTC)
