Since the treatment of Cadière by her Jesuit spiritual director is a matter of allegation and unsubstantiated rumours, it is inappropriate to illustrate their relationship as some sort of pornographic, demonic abuse. Thanks. Elizium23 (talk) 13:35, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, This vintage image is not pornographic. It is used in all Wikipedia pages around the world. This is a public domain work of art Best regards. Langladure (talk) 13:41, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It does not reflect any sort of facts about the case. If you cannot produce a source that affirms the allegation of sexual relations then it is inadmissible. Elizium23 (talk) 13:48, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For now we are talking about the image. Why do you want to censor this image? What are your criteria for declaring it pornographic? It is used in all the Wikipedias of the World. Langladure (talk) 13:54, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, The court documents of the time discuss the case in detail. Marie-Catherine says she is initially uncomfortable in the presence of the priest. Subsequently she evokes incessant requests. Girard tells her that "God asked more of her", she must "give herself entirely". Girard explains to him “I am your master, your God… You must suffer everything in the name of obedience”. The rapes deteriorate her health, she begins to vomit, to the point that she can hardly eat; "She rejected the little she took". I put the source in the French language page. I hope this will suit you : Femmes poursuivies pour dénonciation calomnieuse pour avoir dénoncé des violences sexuelles : des sorcières modernes. Best regards Langladure (talk) 18:35, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, Voltaire evokes the affair in his work The Maid of Orleans (poem) a heroic-comic poem : Come, come, my father-in-law Girard, You deserve a great separate article. So there you are, my daughter confessor, Tender devotee who preaches at the gate! What say you of the penitent charms Of this converted sinew in your arms? I highly value this sweet adventure. Everything is human, Girard, in your doing; This is not to sin against nature: How many devotees have done even more! But, my friend, I hardly expected To see the devil enter into this affair. Girard, Girard, all your accusers, Jacobin, Carmelite, and writer, Judges, witnesses, enemies, protectors, None of you is a wizard, I swear. Langladure (talk) 18:44, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
