Nominations table (week 1)

[edit]

On the nominations table, because there wasn't actually any nominations I think the immune housemates should stay yellow but the nominated housemates should be in grey and saying something else. Just because they only face eviction because of the task/twist and it had nothing to do with nominations. For example, BB7 week 1, if they're in the Big Brotherhood they are yellow, if they're not they're nominated and they're grey. Same with BB9 in week 1 with the passed/failed task, BB10 with the housemates/non housemate, and CBB5 with the servants/masters. All nothing to do with nominations. ThisIsDanny (talk) 19:44, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is fine as it is, same as with BB14 --MSalmon (talk) 20:28, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you Danny. Waterlooroadfan107 (talk) 13:11, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's only like that for week 1 in Big Brother 14 because Michael nominated, hence everyone else saying "Not Eligible" instead of "No Nominations". Dappy and Liz should be blue as they were automatically nominated before they started playing for immunity. The housemates who won immunity should be yellow, then the others should be grey. Look at CBB8 for another example. Pamela granted immunity to housemates meaning the others were automatically nominated, and are grey because there were no nominations or weren't actually nominated. Which is exactly the same as this series really, they won tasks for immunity. ThisIsDanny (talk) 16:21, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You mean just change the colour of the cells? --MSalmon (talk) 18:03, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Either one of these, because no one was specifically nominated, just through process or elimination decided who faced eviction. The only reason why Dappy and Liz could be blue is because they were actually chosen by Jim and Linda (even though they didn't realise at the time) whereas the others weren't chosen if you get what I mean? Hard to explain.

Notes

[edit]
  • ^Note 1 : Prior to the housemates entering the house Big Brother put the housemates into pairs who were tied together using handcuffs. On launch night, Jim and Linda had to decide who to separate. They chose to separate Dappy and Liz, however as a result they automatically faced the first public vote. Another two pairs joined Dappy and Liz over the next few days. ThisIsDanny (talk) 18:18, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Summary

[edit]

Hi, I have started a summary table but it needs to be updated. If anyone can do it that would be great. Thanks. --MSalmon (talk) 23:23, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection extention

[edit]

Hi, just wondering if the article's semi-protection status should be extended to include the extra 4 days just in case? --MSalmon (talk) 23:02, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Housemates' dates of birth

[edit]

These have been removed on the basis of privacy, but that only applies to non-notable people who have not sought media attention, such as the non-notable family members of celebrities. The housemates have all chosen to be on a reality show that they know is broadcast on national TV. Jim Michael (talk) 21:10, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

And past series have the celebrities DOBs too. ThisIsDanny (talk) 22:59, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:BLPPRIVACY is not optional, and something being in another articles doesn't make it right.

With identity theft a serious ongoing concern, people increasingly regard their full names and dates of birth as private. Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object. If the subject complains about the inclusion of the date of birth, or the person is borderline notable, err on the side of caution and simply list the year. In a similar vein, articles should not include postal addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, or other contact information for living persons, though links to websites maintained by the subject are generally permitted. See above regarding the misuse of primary sources to obtain personal information about subjects.

No one is suggesting stating their addresses, phone numbers etc. All the housemates have sought attention from the media and public. Only two of this series' housemates are of marginal notability - Jasmine and Casey. All the others are public figures. There are reliable sources for some of their birthdates, and we don't exclude date of birth from a biography, unless a reliable source stating it cannot be found. Jim Michael (talk) 13:17, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
BLP Privacy for Dates of Birth and addresses does not distinguish between notable and non notable people, Dates of Birth can only be included if MULTIPLE reliable sources have published them or it can be proven that the person has publicly published it. WP:TABLOIDs do not count as reliable sources for this kind of controversial information. 16:21, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Dates of birth removed for privacy? What a crock. Since when was a date of birth controversial? And "With identity theft a serious ongoing concern" - yes because so many people are going to pretend to be Jim Davidson or Luisa Zissman. How utterly pathetic.--The Totter 17:31, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
thanks for the constructive arguments. Take it up on the blp notice board. GimliDotNet (Speak to me,Stuff I've done) 20:48, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. Some of the busybodies on this site seem keener to stop the dissemination of information. I'm sure that was not the original intention.--The Totter 03:08, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
