He was elected as Member of the National Assembly representing Siemreap Constituency in 1993, 1998 and 2003 General Elections, and was elected as Member of the National Assembly representing Kep Constituency in 2008, 2013, 2018 and 2023 General Elections. He was Minister of Commerce for 19 years (1994-2013), Minister of Industry, Mines and Energy (Aug-Dec 2013), Minister of Industry & Handicraft (Dec 2013-March 2020), Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (March 2020-Aug 2023).
