"No other city has held the championship for three of the four major North American sports at the same time.[citation needed]"

Regarding this request for a citation, what sort of citation is acceptable? I mean it's been verified by a number of people at various points... I've verified it myself by simply looking at the list of championship winners of the major four North America sports. But I doubt that I'd be considered a credible source. How do you cite something that is generally known and accepted as true? For and extreme example, what if I wanted to indicate that water is wet? How would I cite something like that?

Assessment for Wikiproject Michigan

[edit]

Per a request at Wikipedia:WikiProject Michigan/Assessment#Requesting an assessment or re-assessment, I've reassessed this article. After removing non-reliable sources (wiki sites and the self-published book/website), the sourcing is very minimal. The actual prose relating to Champions Day -- the subject of the article -- is just four sentences, in a single paragraph. To me, that makes it a stub, list of commemorated titles and scanned proclamation documents notwithstanding. cmadler (talk) 17:06, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notibility

[edit]

Anyone know how a review of notability is handled? Since the tag was placed on this page in Sept, 2010 the page has been expanded greatly. Numerous references have been added. A much more comprehensive list of commemorated events has been established. New sections have been added both discussing the testimonial dinner held in 1936 as well as more recent efforts by Detroit to restore the holiday. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rrbee (talkcontribs) 02:53, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
