Meaning of Azad

The article lists the meaning of Azad in his name "The Liberated". While आज़ाद can mean both "The Free" and "The liberated", in his name "The free" is a better translation. I am going to WP:BEBOLD and edit this. Shabda (talk) 11:17, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

His Birth place, Badarka not Bhaawra

The fact is that Chandra Shekhar 'Azad' was born in Bhaawra Tehsil of Jhabua district in Madhya Pradesh, not in Badarka village of Unnao in Uttar Pradesh. His father moved from Badarka to Bhaawra before Chandra Shekhar's birth. So the birth place needs to be corrected.-Amod Bhagwat 20:22, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Ab_18.

Chandrashekhar Azad's father Pandit Sitaram Tewari was from Badarka, Unnao District in Uttar Pradesh, but Chandrashekhar Azad was born in Bhawra, Jhabua District of Madhya Pradesh. His mother, Jagrani Devi had spent her last years in Jhansi with Sadashiv Rao Malkapurkar, who was a very important man in Chandrashekhar Azad's group. After Chandrashekhar Azad's death, Sadashiv Rao Malkapurkar had been in contact with Jagrani Devi and she had told the fact that Chandrashekhar Azad was born in Bhawra, Jhabua, NOT in Badarka, Unnao. 1 June 2007. Kindly see the site http://unnao.nic.in/Personali.htm, which is an official site of U.P. Govt. It confirms the birth place of Chandra Shekhar Azad as Badarka not Bhaawra as genrally mistaken by the people. No doubt his father Pandit Sita Ram Tiwari served for so many years in Alirajpur State of the British India now in Madhya Pradesh. Moreover in the persondata of this article, the facts are more correctly given, hence these changes are effected immediately with a request to please honour the changes.Krantmlverma (talk) 08:04, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

The website of Unnao district says that he belonged to Badarka, not that he was born there. What user:Ab_18 says could also be correct that his father moved to Bhaawra before his birth. Abhinavdhere (talk) 05:36, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

This is to be noted that even his mother confirmed to many of his friends that Chnadrashekhar Azad born in Bhabara. His very close friend Manmanth nath gupta with whom Azad spent years told in his book also that Azad was born in Bhabara,MP not badraka. People from Up or Kanpur will feel that he born in UP. Vandalism

It is being brought to every one notice that on 20 July 2011 some body (User ID:122.168.57.9) removed the previous reference tag of http://unnao.nic.in/Porsonali.htm i.e. the official site of U.P.Govt and changed the birth place of Azad from Badarka to Bhaawra without giving any valid reason on the discussion page. The website doesn't say he was born there. It just says he "belonged" to this village (i.e. the village is his "native place", where his ancestors lived). Several other reliable sources cited in the article (including this official one) state that Azad was born in Bhaawra. utcursch | talk 05:02, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

POV issues (July 2006)

This article overall reads fine, but there is some NPOV trouble:

"Till his last breath the soldiers were terrified of his sharp shooting skills. And this was to be the final stage of a heroic epic, the final scene in his life as well as the romantic revolutionaries of the HSRA..."

I disagree with the overall bit. This article is flamboyantly POV. It's the kind of POV that on first read appears to be satire. This article's text, whereever it may have been gleaned from, is the product of someone incapable of being a Wikipedia editor. --Adamrush 20:48, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Sur'name "Pandit" or "Pundit"

Chandra Shekhar Azad and Ram Prasad Bismil, both were called "Pandit Ji" by his partymen as a token of respect. Azad, by cast was a Brahman whereas Ram Prasad Bismil was also brahmin, it is a fact. But Bismil was very learned man a known figure of Arya Samaj and his contribution in Literature in those very arduous circumstances is commendable, that is why he was called "Pandit" as a token of respect. In the English language it has been written as "Pundit" with a meaning as a "learned" or "Brahmin", so if some one has replaced it as "Pundit" no problem but to search it in en.wiki alongwith the name Ram Prasad Bismil or Chandra Shekhar Azad will creat a problem. In my personal opinion this matter should also be discussed for the purpose of "name". Is it OK? With regards to everybody.Krantmlverma (talk) 08:27, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

born in MP or UP??

TEXT BELOW IMAGE SAYS He was born in "Badarka, Unnao District, near Kanpur," but the main text under early life says "he was born in the family of Pandit Sitaram Tiwari and Jagrani Devi in the bhabara (of alirajpur District)|Madhya Pradesh. He spent his childhood in the village Bhabhra when his father was serving in the erstwhile estate of Alirajpur."

Unexplained removals

Anonymous contributors have been removing content without explanation, as here. There does appear to be some sourcing and thus I cannot understand why the information is being removed. It is not central India India have states(or you can call provinces). nearly 37 to 39 there are many states in central India. If you want check the India's map, you will find it. Please improve that thing over there! If you are writing a article first time check this out here! It was known as that at the time of his birth. We can't say he was born in a place that didn't exist at that time - this is standard practice on Wikipedia. - Sitush (talk) 07:39, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
