Profiles of plaintiffs in a monument case
[edit]I am not even sure how many cases there are. Here is one description.

On reflection, I think no one has published any single narrative about all this
[edit]I live in Charlottesville. Local people know that there is controversy and protests about many statues. What I hear about is Confederate statues due to the Civil War over slavery, Jefferson as a slavery advocate, and Lewis and Clark for personally and symbolically domineering Native Americans.
We are at the second anniversary of the Unite the Right rally. With all the national and international media attention, and two years of local reflection, and an the local University of Virginia which has archived and collected information about the event, I am not readily able to find any online media source which remotely reflects the local common knowledge of how people here see and think about the controversy. The media source which reflects local knowledge either is not online, or I have not found it, or it does not exist.

Multiple lawsuits - not identified and perhaps no access to text
[edit]I do not know how many lawsuits there are related to the monuments. Several?
Those lawsuits probably are the center of the controversy because they mark the sides of the conflict and present their arguments. If it is not the lawsuits then the controversy could be in requests to the city council.
If I had text of the lawsuit I still would not be able to put it online because of copyright. Same with city council meetings. I do not think these documents are in circulation. Perhaps a library or archive has copies or perhaps not. Blue Rasberry (talk) 22:04, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
Why is "Johnny Reb" statue not mentioned?
[edit]Why is the "Johnny Reb" statue (or its recent removal) not mentioned in this Wikipedia article? https://www.cvilletomorrow.org/articles/johnny-reb-is-gone-heres-the-status-of-the-5-other-charlottesville-area-statues-activists-want-removed Source] 173.88.246.138 (talk) 05:46, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
