Che Bonnie David Selane, born on March 26, 1983, in Tickyline Village (Ga-Maake), is a distinguished South African legal scholar, public affairs expert, and political leader. Raised by his mother, Masape Sabina (Jatala) Selane, and father Lesiba Johannes Molomo, the Secretary to King Ledwaba, Selane grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and leadership as the eldest child in his family. He has two sisters, Winnie Molebogeng Selane and Gavaza Mthombeni.

Selane's academic journey is marked by a deep commitment to education and development. He holds a Doctor of Laws (LLD) from the University of Limpopo, where his groundbreaking research explored the role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges as a tool for achieving the South African government’s developmental agenda. His work in this area, particularly his publication An Analysis of How TVET is Playing a Significant Role in Fostering Students' Skills and Competencies in South Africa (co-authored with Prof. Odeku), is highly regarded in academic and policy-making circles.

Prior to his doctorate, Selane earned a Master’s in Public Affairs from Tshwane University of Technology and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Limpopo. His legal expertise includes critical analyses of Judicial Commissions of Inquiry and land expropriation without compensation in South Africa, demonstrating his interest in both social justice and the country's legal frameworks.

Professionally, Selane serves as the Deputy Chair of Chairs at the Limpopo Provincial Legislature, where he plays an instrumental role in facilitating the implementation of the Constitutional Mandate. His work includes presenting key reports, such as the Portfolio Committee’s Annual Performance Plan (APP) and Budget Report for the Department of Economic Development, Environment, and Tourism (LEDET). His focus in this capacity extends to addressing issues like unemployment, environmental sustainability, and the performance of state entities such as the Limpopo Economic Development Agency (LEDA) and the Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA).

Selane’s political career is deeply rooted in his involvement with the African National Congress (ANC), particularly through his leadership in the ANC Youth League (ANCYL), where he served as the Provincial Secretary for Limpopo. His administrative acumen and ability to liaise across diverse organizations have been key to his success in fostering community development and legislative oversight.

His career also includes valuable experience in the Department of Health and Social Development, where he was responsible for managing accommodation, parliamentary liaison, and legislative tasks. His proactive approach to overseeing housing committees and ensuring compliance with state policies has earned him a reputation for efficiency and leadership.

Che Bonnie David Selane is not only a skilled politician and legal expert but also a dedicated family man. He is married to Lebogang Selane, and they are blessed with three children: Lehlogonolo, Makgomo, and Cassel Selane.

Selane’s contributions to law, governance, and economic development reflect his unwavering commitment to South Africa's growth. His work in public policy, particularly in the fields of education and economic development, positions him as a key figure in driving forward the country’s developmental goals. 105.242.229.243 (talk) 00:16, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
