Culver was not the first Democratic Iowa Governor since Clyde Herring

[edit]

Vilsack was the first Democratic Governor since Clyde Herring, not Culver.

Hire It Back

[edit]

Do I have your attention ...... I hope so . What jobs are availible for the unemployed . Well , give a man a chance ,, Um , Obamas plan is to rebuild . Lets fire everyone rebuilding and hire smaller firms . Give them a place to make things better ,right now everything is about money . I am ready to learn and go a different direction . But , the plan in place has no direction . The big companies go on , they do not hire new guys and do not give jobs to the the small guy . We can keep up with the big guys ,and meet our quota, but they do not get the job done on time . It goes on for ever , sub let sections , and get it done !!!!!! For the small guy and quit hiring for money , Highway money .. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.25.254.237 (talk) 09:36, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What?

[edit]

"Culver faces a tough reelection bid against Former Republican Governor Terry E. Branstad. Polling to date shows that Culver trails Branstad by significant margins" - why is this in the intro? And why does it just mention Branstad, who is in a crowded field, when they primaries aren't for half a year? WTF is this? Also, why is there no mention of... anything that's happened during his term as governor? 98.168.192.162 (talk) 06:08, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Stem Cell Research Section

[edit]

Removed biased and unsourced description of stem cell research legislation. The wikipedia page for therapeutic cloning states that "in genetics and developmental biology, somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) is a laboratory technique for creating a clonal embryo, using an ovum with a donor nucleus (see process below). It can be used in embryonic stem cell research, or, potentially, in regenerative medicine where it is sometimes referred to as "therapeutic cloning." Furthermore, stating that there is no impact on Iowa makes assumptions. Many believe that researchers and companies working in the embryonic stem cell research field generally chose to avoid locating in states that ban certain procedures and limit research options generally. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.249.132.141 (talk) 20:23, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
