Questionable sources
[edit]First, there appears to be too much emphasis on Chinese state-run sources in circumstances where they can't be expected to be unbiased. For example, the claim that Sri Lanka supports China in the South China Sea dispute appears to only come from Chinese sources, and is contradicted by other sources including Vietnam and other Sri Lankan news sites. Probably the best policy would be to emphasize who is making each (disputed) claim, rather than trying to pick a side.
Secondly, I have made various changes to the wording to try to make the article sound more neutral. However, the section titled "Friendship" lacked any sources and appeared to be just making subjective opinion claims so I removed it. In order to be more neutral, I think we should make sure to properly ascribe any opinion to an expert or relevant group like "so-and-so says <insert opinion> because <insert justification>".
Lastly, I'm hoping that we've changed enough that we can remove the "written like a personal reflection or opinion essay" tag. Any objections?
