Notability

I can understand the writer or composer being honoured with Wikipedia articles, but the person who played the tune? That seems excessive.Royalcourtier (talk) 07:51, 18 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'd argue it isn't. I know it's been a while since this question was asked and the article was deleted/redirected but Macpherson was the composer of what is arguably the most famous Australian bush ballad and song in history (which Banjo Paterson was instead credited for). I think that this WikiPedia article was an important contribution and it certainly shouldn't have been deleted – even if it was a stub, it was a notable article.
