Islas Rica de Oro and Rica de Plata
[edit]The phantom islands rich in gold and silver that appeared near Japan for centuries during the Age of Exploration currently redirect to Anson Archipelago as the only current treatment of their existence. They should really redirect here as an entire subsection if they don't deserve their own pages, but we need the treatment expanded and sourced first. Note that Martin Spanberg was the first to establish they were nowhere near where they were claimed to be around Japan in his 1738, 1739, and 1742 voyages on Vitus Bering's behalf. There are probably others who specifically helped clear up other nearby areas. — LlywelynII 12:43, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
