Steven pretending to be Cindy

[edit]

I removed the stuff about the haunting. Cant decide whether it's necessary to mention in this page, because her story ends when she dies and Stephen's fake haunting is his and Ina's story. Thoughts?--GunGagdinMoan 15:38, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, they're not part of Cindy's story. I've always thought that. AnemoneProjectors 16:09, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can we please use this as her new Pic?

It's an official promo from BBC. A220FLNY (talk) 19:49, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Thank you so much for the suggestion, and I think that it is a lovely photo 😊
However,
1.) For soap opera articles, screenshots from episodes are generally preferred.
2.) I am not 100% sure if that image is free to use (I think so but I am myself not an expert on images).

However, now that she has returned, I am sure someone will update her picture with a screenshot picture soon, although maybe in a couple of months when she has been on screen more... DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 19:59, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Like Danilo said, screenshots are preferred. I'll replace the current image when she's had some more scenes that I can get a good screenshot of. – Meena20:01, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I’ve seen many EastEnders characters on Wiki with promotional photos as their pics. Screenshots from scenes is very outdated. 193.104.222.202 (talk) 14:36, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Screenshots actually show them in-character, hence why they are preferred. There is no such thing as "outdated" in fiction. – Meena15:06, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well you haven’t been wrong so far. 193.181.41.24 (talk) 14:49, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

–present

[edit]

A couple unknowledgeable and/or inexperienced editors seem to have an issue with comprehending that 2023 is the present - and therefore having "2023–present" in Cindy's duration makes no sense. One editor argues that it is "how people know she's in the show" – which is disregarding the "classification" parameter which states that she is "Present; regular". I thought I'd bring it here to get a formal consensus. – Meena15:12, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

So then why is it permitted for other characters, brainiac? 193.181.46.246 (talk) 15:28, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please be WP:CIVIL. Insults are not permitted. If you disagree you can do so respectfully :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 15:32, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn’t insulting her. I really do think she’s a brainiac. 193.181.46.246 (talk) 15:34, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Who? I'll fix it. Unfortunately, "this article hasn't yet been fixed so Cindy Beale shouldn't be fixed either" is not a respected argument on Wikipedia. – Meena15:29, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about the argument of “if you can’t fix them all, don’t fix any” ? :) 193.181.46.246 (talk) 15:35, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll fix them all, don't worry! Which characters say "2023–present" please? – Meena15:37, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Every EastEnders’ character for one! They all say the same thing. By adding just “2023” you make it seem like she is in the show for the year ONLY. Any further attempt to disrupt editors on Wikipedia will result in a permanent block. 193.181.46.246 (talk) 15:31, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Characters should only get "2023–present" once we are in 2024 as 2023 is the present. And again, the classification being "Present; regular" is there to indicate that she is still on the show. I feel like I'm repeating myself here so please just re-read my initial comment in this discussion. – Meena15:35, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What about her husband George Knight? His also states 2023-present. I can also list another 1000 characters for you to “Fix” if you have the patience, that is? 193.181.46.246 (talk) 15:37, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
His infobox doesn't say that. :/ – Meena15:38, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That’s because you’ve removed it. Do I need to even ask why? 193.181.46.246 (talk) 15:43, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Because 2023 is the present. Meena15:44, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But his infobox doesn’t even at least say “2023”. 193.181.46.246 (talk) 15:47, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully you get consensus. At least then you won’t have to lock Wikipedia pages. 193.181.46.112 (talk) 16:43, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for not checking here first before editing, but I have restored the -present. This is long standing convention in soap articles that exists for a clear reason, and would need consensus to deviate from. U-Mos (talk) 06:22, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That’s exactly what I thought. Thank you. Not so bad for someone as “unknowledgeable” and “inexperienced” as myself, eh? It may take you weeks to undo the vandalism Meena has caused to God knows how many other Wiki pages. Did someone say P45? I’ll do my best to help, as I’ve always done. 193.181.41.24 (talk) 12:40, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Meena is the lowest of the low for doing this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mseking (talkcontribs) 18:08, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If contradicting me wasn’t bad enough, she then had the cheek to lock the page from further public edits, or should I say “corrections”. I’ve met many Meena’s in my time. 193.181.41.223 (talk) 19:33, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Are you lot about done? This little spat has been over for days and I've let the "2023–present" stay on the article even though it lacks common sense and any form of intelligence. Lerrit go Meena19:56, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
IPs, can you please stop being so rude? If you do not agree with a change or suggestion that is fine but you do not need to be saying that Meena is "lowest of the low" or needing a "P45" (which is already ridiculous because Wikipedia is volunteering, not paid). This is not okay. Please be WP:CIVIL. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 20:09, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The P45 reference was clearly a joke! Since when is it my problem that you can’t locate your sense of humour? Btw Meena you might as well unlock this page now! Panic over… 193.181.46.36 (talk) 13:57, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The page will remain protected until December - its in its best interest to stay protected due to vandalism. – Meena14:10, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Meena, do you have evidence to support those wild allegations? What exactly is your definition of “vandalism”? You locked it on the basis of the “2023-present” scenario, in which it was proven you were wrong. 193.181.46.83 (talk) 15:12, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
