NPOV remove

[edit]

This isn't a blog! Jerry G. Sweeton Jr. 12:47, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever issue there was seems to be resolved. I've removed the NPOV template, please use {{POV-section}} or better yet {{POV-statement}} for sentences, then detail issues here. This will help address them in a timely manner. - RoyBoy 21:59, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Acronym?

[edit]

Doesn't the name derive from Cincinnatti Towel and Supply? If so, shouldn't this be included in the article? Rlquall 03:54, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, the name is a meaningless word like EXXON, Cintas was orignally ACME Towel, based in Ohio.

No, I think the name means something in spanish, im not sure what though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.192.69.76 (talk) 00:00, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cintas IS an acronym. I believe Cincinnati Towel and Supply is correct, but I'm not certain. I used to work for the company and I do know that they were not trying to name it after a word in spanish (which loosely translates to "shoelace" by the way). Exxon is also an acronym, but I'm not sure what. Also, yes is was originally ACME Towel. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.229.242.157 (talk) 05:44, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The name has no meaning. It's origin is traced back to the early days of a conversation that happened over a few drinks in a bar. CIN was the basis, obviously from the home city of Cincinnatti, but the TAS was just a doodle that was scribbled on a drink napkin and the name was born. Not a great story, but that is the truth of the matter. There is a spanish word but that was not a consideration when nameing the company.

The name Cintas is NOT an acronym. The name of the company was never Cincinnati Towel and Supply. Both Richard Farmer and Scott Farmer were throwing names around one day and they ended up with Cintas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hummer739 (talkcontribs) 02:53, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
