Misidentification as a coat of arms

[edit]

This isn't actually a coat of arms, but an emblem. There are several things that make a coat of arms a coat of arms and not a seal, logo, or emblem, and this at most only has two, the supporters and it being confined. Other things are needed, like it being vaguely shield-like or having the ability to have free artistic choice in its representation. As, such, I move for the renaming of this page and the labeling of this image to be changed from 'Coat of Arms of Guayaquil' to 'Emblem of Guayaquil'. Additionally, a coat of arms already exists for the city, 'argent a lion rampant gules bearing a flag gules charged with a saltire of the field advancing towards a castle or on the dexter over a base wavy barry azure and the field, all within a border of the second bearing eight links connected or'.
