"High climate sensitivity in CMIP6 model not supported by paleoclimate"

Here is what I added to 2020 in science, it could also be used here (you can also edit it there):
- Scientists report that one of the climate models – the CMIP6 model CESM2 – is not supported by paleoclimate records. Comparing simulations of this model with geological evidence suggests that it's climate sensitivity is too high. This indicates that this model may not perform realistically at high CO2 concentrations, overestimating global warming at high levels of CO2 where its equilibrium climate sensitivity is 5.3 °C and modelled tropical land temperature exceeds 55°C. They recommend using paleoclimate constraints of past warm and cold climates to benchmark the performance of climate models.[1][2]

The predecessor to CESM2, the CESM1.2 model, did a remarkably good job of simulating temperatures during the Early Eocene, according to the researchers. It has an equilibrium climate sensitivity of 4.2 C
