According to the text of the Short Titles Act 1896 (The Public General Acts 1896, HMSO) that I have infront of me the short title of this Act is the 'Constables Protection Act 1750' (emphasis on the 's' at the end of Constables). Could the short title given on SLD be wrong? James500 (talk) 17:25, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Halsbury's Statutes has it as Constables, plural, so I have moved the page. Richard75 (talk)

Constable Protection Act 1750Constables Protection Act 1750 — The existing name of this article is probably due to a former mistake on SLD which has now been corrected (see here). Both "The Public General Acts 1896", HMSO, 1896 and Halsbury's Statutes have it as plural. I think that the evidence that the current name is wrong is overwhelming.--James500 (talk) 15:52, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
