About a problem of chronology

[edit]

The page says that the Convocation Sejm "took place in Warsaw from 7 May to 23 June" 1764 and that "Stanisław August Poniatowski (was) elected the new king of the Commonwealth".

But it is generally admitted that Poniatowski was elected on the 6th of September 1764, and that the election Sejm took place in Wola, near Warsaw, not in Warsaw.

Either the Convocation Sejm became the Election Sejm, and had another session. Either there was another Sejm.

I must add that the name of Stanislaw August appeared after his election : his birth name was Stanislaw Antoni Poniatowski (cf. page Stanisław August Poniatowski : "Stanisław II August (born Stanisław Antoni Poniatowski)". --Jcqrcd44 (talk) 21:37, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
