DYK nomination
[edit]Link to nomination.
Nonsensical claim.
[edit]"The Normal School was so named because it provided a 'normal' school environment where trainee teachers could observe more senior teachers interacting with pupils in the classroom."
Thats nonsense. The terminology "Normal school" is used for an establishment which trains teachers to be teachers. It comes from French language usage and is used in many other european languages and even chinese. The purpose of a "normal school" is to aim that the basic national curriculum is taught in a consistent or "normalised" way by all teachers, regardless of the teachers' own varying educational background.Eregli bob (talk) 06:20, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
